The R3 extension is a joint project between the City of Adelanto, PERC Water, the City of Victorville, and Mojave Water Agency. The R3 project extension will extend a 30-inch pipeline from the existing Mojave Water Agency facilities, north to the City of Adelanto water tanks on Olivine Rd. The area these tanks serve represents our highest demand (water usage) and is most limited in pumping capacity. These factors create an increase in the cost to move water to this area through multiple booster stations. Construction activity was completed on March 20th, 2021. The R3 extension will be able to provide adequate water at a rate comparable with pumping costs. Projected cost savings to the city is approximately $1,000,000 annually. This project will allow the City of Adelanto and PERC Water to create and implement an efficient CIP to further benefit the city’s growth, water quality, and infrastructure improvements. FORWARD THINKING: a new PRV valve assembly is in the budget which will allow R3 water to be used throughout the City and different pressure zones including the North end.
