Mayor Gabriel Reyes Continued Commitment When Re-Elected:
I am a man of my word and when I commit myself to something I want to make sure I fulfill it. So with that being said, here are 5 things that I will continue to commit myself to as we achieve More.
1- Continuous Fiscal responsibility- I promise to keep Adelanto moving forward with our audits and BALANCING THE BUDGET FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS- ALLOWING MORE TAX DOLLARS TO GO INTO COMMUNITY INVESTMENT. With continuous regulation of cannabis and maintaining and adding power, we can continue to collect our revenues which is why we embraced the industry.
2- More Homes – It will be my goal to create pathways for continuous housing to be built in our city. Workforce housing affordable housing and continuous market rate homes. Our goal is to INCREASE OUR HOUSING STOCK BY 50% more homes to become a PROPER SUBurban city and attract the retail and commercial we all want.
3- Retail and commercial development – GROWTH IN JOBS LEADS TO MORE HOUSING LEADS TO RETAIL! With the demand for housing, we will be able to attract MANY NEW types of businesses we want into our city. We will develop HWY 395 and Palmdale Rd. Our goal will be to bring a Grocery store to the North side of our city.
4- Continuous Capital improvements – We will continue to pave roads, address our water infrastructure issue and improve our QUALITY of life like access to better walking pathways, sidewalks, PARKS, and beautification policies in our city.
5- Pass Measure “R” – Measure R will give us almost 6.5 Million dollars to address 4 major issues in our city. Illegal Dumping, Capital improvements, Public Safety, and bringing back our parks and rec department. This measure is NOT a tax on us residents but a vacant land tax and 97% of Adelanto is owned by people who don’t live in our city. This will give us a budget to really address issues in our city and continue to move Adelanto Forward.
I truly believe with me Mayor we will be able to accomplish these milestones. I live by the acronym A.R.E. which stands for Access Relationship Experience. Our team has the “Access”, our team has the “Relationships”, and we have the “Experience” to make Adelanto the city we are all happy and proud to call home.
